In 1994, David Bowie visited the House of Artists at the Museum Gugging, drawn by his interest in Art Brut. Austrian photographer Christine de Grancy captured this rare encounter, showing Bowie in quiet observation and genuine engagement with the work and world of the Gugging Artists. Bowie was interested in psychiatry because of his half-brother, who sadly died in a psychiatric hospital. After visiting Gugging Bowie published the album '1.Outside' in 1995.
