Akelei Sell

Born in Germany in 1941. 1967 Diploma in translation in Russian and French at the Institute of interpreters /Univ. Heidelberg. 1979-80 School of Visual Arts; Art Students League, New York. 1981 guest studies at the University of Applied Arts, Vienna. Since 1982 freelance artist in Vienna, 1992-94 Berlin: objects, installation, drawing, photography.  2007/08 teaching activity in Shaoxing/China.
1988-2020 solo and group exhibitions in Austria, China, Germany, Indonesia, Japan, Russia, Serbia and the Ukraine.
Prizes and grants: 2003 Neptune Prize/Photo Competition, Vienna. 2004 Artist in Residence Nanjing/China (Federal Chancellery Vienna/Art Section). 2009 2nd place photo competition, JapanMatsuri London.
