The portfolio 'Zen' is a selection of the book project "Granite - The Country Before Winter" and describes the forest, a mystic landscape, as a place of creative silence and loneliness, where the photographic language has become an irresistible dedication of love by the author. He knows, like barely anyone, the forest’s withdrawn landscape with its beauty that more and more people are being drawn to lately. The author has spent years exploring the woods through his camera, discovering hidden away guesthouses, lighting the edgy faces of those living in the forest and narrow snuggeries. His photographs capture the tough everyday life of farmers. His images are silent narratives, ethnic prose, that document – without pathos – a disappearing world.
