Beat Schweizer was born 1982 in Bern, Switzerland, where he grew up. After working several odd jobs, he was employed by the Archaeological Services where he came in contact with photography. In 2003 he started his apprenticeship as a photographer and received his diploma in 2007. From 2008 until 2009 he worked for a Swiss daily newspaper.
 
Since 2009 he has been working as a freelance photographer focusing on editorial and corporate photography. Meanwhile he followed his personal projects, which took him to Kosovo, Ukraine and Russia amongst others.

His work has been exhibited in Switzerland, France and Great Britain. In recent years he used the means of self-publishing to present his personal projects «85 Millimeter, 100 Gramm» and «Der Boiler». He was recently awarded a bursary from the Canton of Bern to continue his personal projects. Beat Schweizer joined the Anzenberger Agency in 2008.
